Exhibition in the Rathausgalerie © Gerhard Nixdorf

The gallery in the Burghausen town hall has existed since 1991. The aim of the town hall gallery was to create a place for the presentation of art in public space.

Interested visitors will find the Town Hall Gallery on the second floor of Burghausen Town Hall in the old town. Each month, an artist is given the opportunity to show their own work in the Rathausgalerie. Each exhibition begins with a vernissage on the first Friday of the exhibition. The vernissage starts at 18 p.m.

Well-known artists from Burghausen who have already exhibited their works of art in the Rathausgalerie include Katalin Harrer, Knox, Alto Hien, Gunter Junghans, Toni Eckert, Erni Brendtner, Lydia Rösch, Gernot Sorgner and many others.

Various art groups such as "Der Farbkreis", the painting group "Primavera", the vhs photo group or the International Club have also been able to admire their works in the Rathausgalerie.

Artists can register by mail at the address buergermeisterbuero@burghausen.de apply for an exhibition period in the Rathausgalerie.

For this they have to send their CV, information about themselves, the kind of art they create and some pictures. Another prerequisite for a commitment is that they have a connection to Burghausen.

The twelve dates that are available each year are extremely popular.

The opening hours of the town hall gallery correspond to the opening times of the town hall:

Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 17:00

Friday from 08:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
