Commemorative event at the memorial on the Napoleonshöhe © City of Burghausen

The Napoleonshöhe is located in the old town of Burghausen above the Salzach steep bank. From the hill above the Salzach, the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte is said to have observed work on the bridge over the Salzach in 1809 and issued orders. The emperor is said to have stayed in Burghausen for a total of five days.

Visitors who pay a visit to the Napoleonshöhe today will find the so-called "Napoleonskapelle" - a small open chapel - a memorial with a memorial by the city of Burghausen for the victims of the Second World War and an obelisk that commemorates the Franco-Prussian War 1870/71 remembered.

Interested parties can reach the memorial on Napoleonshöhe in Burghausen via Hans-Stiglocher- or Dr.-Eduard-Haas-Straße.
