General Information

The Burghausen Passport Office is responsible for issuing personal documents. The employees process the applications for ID cards and passports for German nationals as well as eID cards for Union citizens and forward them to the Bundesdruckerei for production.

It usually takes several weeks for applicants to receive their identity card or passport.

If you urgently need a passport or identity card, contact the Burghausen Passport Office. Under certain conditions, employees will issue temporary documents at short notice.

The children's passport was abolished on January 1, 2024. An extension and/or update or a change of place of residence is no longer possible.
However, children's passports that have already been issued do not become invalid; they can continue to be used until the expiration date.
Since January 01.01.2024, XNUMX, children must therefore apply for an identity card or passport if they wish to be issued.

Applicants for all types of personal documents must appear in person at the passport office. Children under the age of 16 (18 for passport) must be accompanied by a guardian.

If you are planning a trip, the Burghausen Passport Office strongly recommends that you observe the current entry regulations. The Federal Foreign Office provides information on this.
