In 2003, the city of Burghausen acquired the complex of the former Cistercian monastery Raitenhaslach. The city has thus assumed responsibility for the preservation of this culturally significant ensemble that is unique in terms of its building fabric. After the purchase, the city of Burghausen had extensive renovation work carried out.
With the move in of the TU Munich, which has set up an academy and training center in the rooms of the former prelate's floor since 2016, as well as the continued existence of the elementary school and the establishment of a kindergarten, the future of the venerable building is secured.
"Encounter and contemplation" - this is the motto under which the monastery, which existed from 1146 to 1803, is appropriately acknowledged.
The large ballroom, formerly known as the "Steinerner Saal", has been available for cultural events since the renovation of its unique historical substance. It is equipped with the necessary infrastructure for such demanding events.
In addition, the "Red Salon" is ideal for small, exclusive discussion formats, the romantic "Prälatengarten" high above the Salzach is always a place for cultural events, as is the sheltered inner courtyard, which is ideal for open-air events.
The cultural ensemble Raitenhaslach is a place that offers a perfect setting for a wide variety of cultural formats such as the multi-day Whitsun festival "Look into the future", contemporary yoga retreats or the open-air "culture and cinema summer Raitenhaslach".
The ensemble is an enrichment for the cultural life of the region between Munich, Salzburg and Passau!
