Numerous festivals enrich the cultural offerings of the city of Burghausen throughout the year. The traditional May Oktoberfest on the exhibition grounds with rides and a large marquee starts in May. The castle festival follows in July, attracting many onlookers and those interested in history to the world's longest castle to immerse themselves in late medieval life. In August, every two years, the bridge festival takes place, where the neighborhood and the good relationship with the Austrian Ach is celebrated.

If you want to shop regionally and seasonally and want to support local farmers, the three weekly markets in Burghausen are the right place for you. Once a year, the monastery market in Raitenhaslach takes place in early summer, where nuns and brothers from monasteries all over Europe offer their goods. In autumn, the Gallimarkt in the old town is a sustainable and regional market with a long tradition.
When the air smells of mulled wine and almonds, the year ends with the two unique Christmas markets, the "Advent in the Grüben" and the "Burgweihnacht".
