A place of international scientific exchange: the former Cistercian monastery Raitenhaslach has housed the academy center of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in its late baroque prelate building since 2016.
With the academy location in Raitenhaslach, the TUM ties in with the origins and tradition of science, after all, the natural sciences in Bavaria emerged from the monastic communities of the 18th century.
Since the secularization of 1803, the monastery's prelate's cane has been privately owned. The city of Burghausen acquired the building in 2003 and ten years later signed a contract with TUM to use the Prälatenbau as a study and seminar center.
Since the completion of the approximately three-year construction work, the center has offered scientists, employees and students of the TUM around 1.000 square meters of seminar rooms for their exchange or their studies.
The academy center also opens its doors to external users: the city of Burghausen organizes a large number of cultural events such as concerts, open air events and lectures of all kinds at the Raitenhalsach location.
In addition, the TUM Academy Center is an extremely popular location for civil weddings.

The baroque hall is considered an art-historical jewel in the Bavarian cultural landscape. The vaulted hall, the vaulted hall and the garden stöckl are also available for private parties, club meetings or company anniversaries.
