Entry fees for the city football championship donated by TV1868 - the city championship is a fixture in the Burghausen sports landscape

April 23, 2024. 18 teams competed against each other this spring in the city football championship, which TV 1868 Burghausen has organized every year since 1990. At the final on February 17, 2024, the “Taverna Tassos” team won the title. They have taken part every year since the city championships began and became city champions for the first time in 2024. “The city football championships have now become a fixture in the Burghausen sports landscape,” says Richard Noll, head of the football department at TV 1868 Burghausen.

As every year, TV 1868 Burghausen donates the entry fees of 540 euros to a good cause. The city of Burghausen almost doubles the amount, so that ultimately 1000 euros go to the BALU children's cancer charity of the BRK Altötting district association. “This is a good thing,” says First Mayor Florian Schneider when handing over the donations. “The money should go where it is urgently needed and BALU is certainly a very good opportunity to do something good.”

Claudia Erkelenz from the BALU children's cancer charity is visibly pleased with the large amount: “Thank you very much for the generous donation! We can really use this to make the difficult times at least a little easier for sick children and their family members with excursions or game evenings.” Children's Cancer Aid also helps affected families with financial problems. A family from Burghausen recently joined and is supported with part of the donated contribution.
