The special exhibition is from March 22.03nd. until 03.11. open.

At the foot of Burghauser Castle lies the Wöhrsee. It is known as a bathing lake and a true natural oasis, but its history is even more diverse: the Wöhrsee has fulfilled many functions for mills and craft businesses, as part of the fortifications or for sporting events and magnificent lake festivals.

The city museum's exciting new special exhibition traces the different sides of the Wöhrsee in the past and present and has some surprises in store. Did you know that the Wöhrsee basin was once supposed to have become the zoo of the Bavarian dukes?

In addition to the special exhibition, the city museum's three large permanent exhibitions are open continuously. The exciting city history, the diverse world of Burghausen art and life in the castle in the late Middle Ages are waiting to be discovered. With numerous hands-on and media stations for the whole family!

Opening hours:

From April 01st to October 03rd, the city museum and special exhibition are open from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m.

From October 04th to November 03rd 10 a.m. – 16 p.m.
