Gernot Sorgner “Perceived Views”
In my artistic work, the topic develops in a lengthy work process. The beginning, the original point, lies in my emotional compulsion to see many impressions, such as music, what I have seen, what I have dreamed of, what I wished for, as the basis for my artistic beginnings.
The canvas, the paper, the primer form the interplay of color, form and line in their diverse applications. Finds from various materials are also included in this process and then form a further developing idea and theme with the various painting and printing techniques. An inner synesthetic becoming slowly emerges.
Overpainting, washing, washing, pasting over and also partial destruction
are always involved in the design of the image until its completion; That is, until my inner person, my reflection, appears like a foil on the picture.
